South-Eastern Finland’s University of Applied Sciences Ltd. is owned by the municipalities Kotka, Kouvola, Iitti, Mikkeli and Savonlinna. The Managing Director is by turns the rector of Kymenlaakso UAS or the rector of Mikkeli UAS. At the moment the Managing Director is Mr Heikki Saastamoinen from Mikkeli UAS. The Chairman of the Board of Management is Mr Jussi Lehtinen, who represents Kymenlaakso Region

Library and Learning Technology Services The Library and Learning Technology Services supports teaching and learning as well as research, innovation, and development activities. In addition to traditional library services, the unit provides support for web-based teaching and learning. The services are mainly intended for the students and staff of the Kymenlaakso and Mikkeli Universities of Applied Sciences, and our contracting parties. The libraries are, nevertheless, open to all, and the library services are also available for outside customers with certain limitations. The library and learning technology services for Kymenlaakso and Mikkeli Universities of Applied Sciences are offered by South-Eastern Finland’s University of Applied Sciences Ltd

Research, Development and Innovation R&D&I in Kymenlaakso UAS is focused on the development of the Kymenlaakso region. R&D&I activities include a wide variety of multidisciplinary research projects (technology transfer, research activities, specialist services, market research, EU projects, product development, laboratory tests). Projects are completed in cooperation with research organisations, companies, municipalities and other partners. Funding comes from various sources such as ministries, companies, municipalities and Tekes (Finnish Funding Agency for Technology and Innovation)
