Application Procedures Ways to Apply ▫Common Application Colleges  If a college offers the Common App & their own application YOU MUST do the Common App!  Application materials are sent electronically from Naviance to Common App  Standardized Test Scores must be sent by the student ▫Non-Common Application  Electronic Submission– college accepts electronic documents from Naviance  Mail Submission – certain colleges only accept application materials through the US Mail ▫Colleges typically require: * Completed Application* Official Transcripts * Test Scores* Essays/Personal Statements * Resume/List of Activities* Teacher/Counselor Recs

Common Application Colleges 1.Complete the Common Application on – * Include completed essays and supplements 2.Using Naviance’s ‘Colleges I’m Applying To’ 1.Enter your Common Application log-in information to link your Common Application to Naviance 2.Add colleges to ‘Colleges I’m Applying To’ 3.Request transcripts through ‘Colleges I’m Applying To’ 4.Select teacher/counselor recommenders 5.Check Naviance to ensure application materials were sent 6.Check individual colleges to ensure application materials were received 3.Send Test Scores – Students are responsible for sending their test scores, Regis Jesuit does not have official copies

Non-Common Application Colleges 1.On Naviance add college(s) to ‘Colleges I’m Applying To’ * Include the application type (Early, Rolling, Regular) ** Students are responsible for tracking their due dates 2.‘Colleges I’m Applying To’ request transcripts 3.Send Test Scores – Apply through the college’s application website 5.Upload your college essay(s) 6.Add teacher and counselor recommendations 7.Check the college’s application website to ensure applications are completed

Colleges I’m Applying To You must enter your Common App information or your Common Application will not be sent! If you are not applying to ANY Common Application school continue w/o entering this information.

Adding Colleges + add colleges to this list add every college you are applying to request transcripts add every college you are applying to Teacher Recs Add your counselor and teachers

Adding Colleges 1. Click ‘lookup’ and add colleges 2. Request transcripts 3. Select which application type you are applying to. 4. Click the box if you have submitted the application for that college

Application Center Important This screen tells you everything you need to know about the application status of your applications.

Teacher Recommendations Before adding any teacher you must personally speak with them. Under your list of colleges add your counselor and any teachers writing your recommendations. They will be notified via once selected.

Monitor Your Application Status Students are responsible for: ▫ Writing their own essays ▫Submitting applications and official test scores ▫Meeting deadlines ▫Tracking their application status Counselors are responsible for sending transcripts, school reports, and counselor recommendations Teachers are responsible for sending Teacher Recommendations
