How to Foil a Terrorist Plot in Seven Simple Steps? 劉泓緯 陳蒔毅

Why doesn’t Ephron ever state a thesis directly in this essay? What is her main idea? How does she present and develop this idea? 1.This way, it can make writing more amusing. 2.Her main idea of this article is to teach us how to foil a plot in seven simple steps. 3.She developed this essay step by step in the order of number.

For whom is Enphron writing this essay? How does her tone reflect her audience? 1.The audience can be ranged from 5 years old children to elders. 2.Her tone makes her writing more accessible to the children.

What is Ephron’s level of diction? Is her lanuage formal or informal?why? Cite specific examples to support your response 1. Her level of diction is about at elementary school level. 2. Her language in this essay is informal. For example, in paragraph 5, it mentioned “More money! The FBI will give you …..” This paragraph is a very childish language.

Why do you suppose Enphron numbers all her paragraphs (except the last one )? In what way is the strategy part of her process analysis? The reason for her writing strategy is to make readers read her writing step by step.

First, we must find a terrorist plot.Second, we need a informat involving terrorists. Third, keep eavesdroping and record what the terrorists said or did. However, this step may cost a lot and take a long time. Finally, the FBI will appear and arrest the terrorist. What are the steps in the process that Enphron presents? Are these steps mutually exclusive or do they overlap? Explain

Brief paragraphs make it easier for readers to understand. Besides, readers may also think that it is easy to foil a terrorist plot. But how can it be easy to foil a terrorist plot? The writer makes it satiric by simplify the paragraphs Many of Ephron’s paragraph are brief, no more than a sentence or two, including the introductory and concluding paragraphs.

It is ironic. In paragraph4.5.6, it is said that it cost a lot of money and time. But in paragraph7, it point out that FBI is going to realize that there isn’t much of a plot going on here at all. But finally the FBI still arrest the terrorist. Would you say that Enphron is ironic in this essay? Is she ever sarcastic or satiric? Point to places in the essay that demonstrate these varieties of humor

Thank You!
