Talent 21 Acid Rain Experiment Your Name: Mark Clopp Group Members: Najah & Jailyn Period: 7

Ask a Question  During this lab we took polluted water and regular water and add twenty milliliters of it to our sunflower seeds.  What we wanted to find out if the sunflower seed would grow in the polluted water.

Control vs. Variable State your hypothesis  In this slide you are to write whether your group was a control group or an experimental group.  State your hypothesis I Hypothesize that the growth of the sunflower seed will be slow and destroyed with the polluted water and it will be deformed. (If it grows)

Data Interpretation  What happened during your experiment?  I think that due to the lack of sunlight and acid in the water instead of other pollutions such as trash caused it not to grow at all.  In the graph it just got heavier and heavier which I believe was the plastic holding in. I think if it was in the sun the water may have evaporated. And we also watered directly onto the seed which I think caused the acid to destroy the seed.

State your Conclusion  My hypothesis that stated that I thought the seed wouldn’t grow. This was right because the polluted water made the seed not grow.  I learned that polluted water disables plants from growing.  I would alter this information if I stopped watering my plant and changed the acidity of the polluted water.
