 The first emergency chocolate ration bar commissioned by the United States Army was the Ration D, commonly known as the D ration.  Colonel Logan had four requirements for the D ration Bar. The bar must:  Weigh 4 ounces (112 g)  Be high in food energy value  Be able to withstand high temperatures  Taste "a little better than a boiled potato " 7 TYPES OF PROPAGANDA

Words of praise for product or person; nice words like goodness or patriotism GLITTERING GENERALITIES

 Manipulating information to make a product appear better than it is, often by unfair comparison or omitting facts CARD-STACKING

 An appeal that helps a person imagine themselves as part of a picture TRANSFER

 Appeals to regular people and their values such as health, family and patriotism PLAIN FOLKS

Materials:  X-Large chocolate bar  Plain white printer paper  A creative propaganda advertising message of an existing product, using two different propaganda techniques.  Write one paragraph, explaining why you chose your two propaganda techniques.  Do NOT use the product’s current advertisement.
