10 reasons why ‘‘Cretanthos’’ olive oil is exceptional Crete is a land where many olive oils of excellent quality are produced. Let’s speak about our own one…

1. It is extracted from purely green, anhydrous and raw olives. – That’s why our olive oil has intense aromas and strong antioxidant qualities.

2. Olives are collected and packed in textile sacks which are NOT put on top of each other. The grinding is done within 24 hours of the olives’ collection– That’s why the acidity of our olive oil is kept at extremely low levels.

3. Dacus or other insects are combated with handmade traps containing only certified natural substances – That’s why the chemical analysis of our olive oil detects no pesticides at all.

4. The olive trees are fertilized with manure, ash and organic natural remainings from brush cutting– That’s why our trees produce their ‘’juice’’ in an harmonized with nature way, avoiding any chemical substitute.

5. The grinding of olives is done in a temperature less than 27 oC and only at certified biological olive factories – That’s why our olive oil preserves valuable vitamins which can be destroyed in higher temperatures.

6. The oil is immediately stored in stainless steel olive tanks in places of low temperature without being in contact with any plastic material.– That’s why our olive oil’s content in plasticizers is trivial and its oxidative indicators (K, peroxides) are much lower than the maximum permitted limit.

7. ‘‘Cretanthos’’ olive oil disposes of the following certificates : Α- Certificate of the Greek Organization of Control and Certification Of Biological Procucts (D.I.O.). Β- ISO of Olive Factory. C- ISO of Olive Bottling Factory. D- ΙSO or Certificates of Adequacy for its’ package (glass bottle, aluminum bottle, closures). Ε- Certificate of «Cretan Product». F- Certificate of >. - This is because our olive oil complies with a series of rules and controls stated for consumers protection.

8. It’s bottle sets off its valuable content.– That’s why our olive oil can ideally be offered as a special gift with a reasonable price.

9. It is an honor that our products bear the label ‘’Crete, Land of Value’’, one more quality certificate by the Prefecture of Crete.– That’s an additional guarantee that our products comply with a series of quality preconditions.

10. Our olive fields are in the region of north ‘‘Mylopotamos’’, an area officially protected for its name and location with the European Codes POP-PGE., and are of the famous olive trees’ variety called «Koroneiki»– The mild regional microclimate in conjunction with the specific variety of our olive trees, produce one of the best olive oils worldwide.

The three basic aspects of the philosophy of ‘’Cretanthos’’: High quality Small quantities Products controlled and certified.
