Plot: Conflict to Change  When examining the plot of a drama, we have to identify great moments of conflict that lead to change.  As we have found between stories and dramas we as observers are given a lot less information.  This means we have to analyze deeply what we are given.

Hunger Games Conflict  Think about “The Hunger Games”  Identify 3 Major Moments of Conflict  Identify which Kind and describe them  Briefly describe what “change” occurs because of the conflict.  Katniss volunteers for rue. (Man vs Society) By volunteering Katniss puts herself into the Hunger Games setting the story in motion.

Written Response  You are going to craft a written response for an Assessment grade.  Choose three of the five elements of drama.  Write a three paragraph response on HOW those chosen elements affect CHANGE in the story.  Choose examples from the text, focus on Change not simple description.

The Hitchhiker Scene Extension  You are going to add a scene onto the end of the Hitchhiker.  What happens? Does he meet the Hitchhiker? Does he get to California?  You will complete this a group of no more than 4 and perform it for the class.

Requirements  Should last at least two minutes when you read it.  Should contain dialogue, stage directions, and one additional character. It can be one from the original story or a new one.  Choose two group members to read it.
