The Natural Regions of Texas North Central Plains
The geography of Texas may be divided into four natural REGIONS.
The North Central Plains is a wide, cliff-bound REGION that has distinct hills and valleys.
The Red River and the Colorado River form the north and south boundaries of the REGION.
The largest area, called the Rolling Plains, features MESAS, BUTTES, and a grassy, scrub TERRAIN.
The Rolling Plains are suitable for grazing livestock and growing many useful crops.
AGRIBUSINESS uses SILOS to store grain before shipping to market.
