Comparing World War Two, The Vietnam War and Today We will compare the United States in a number of categories from World War Two to present. Daft-Length of Service-Avg age-the military itself-Culture at home and the current impact the Vietnam War has had on the United States today.

Military Draft World War Two: 1940 we started a draft of year olds 1942 we began drafting year olds “Conscientious Objectors” 75% of Quaker refuse to serve-had to perform service duty back home. No Gays 34 million registered-10 million Served

Vietnam 18 year old kids 2/3 were volunteers Lottery Most were from poor working class families and the Black Man Draft Dodgers-some went to Canada Other service departments to avoid combat.

Length of Service World War Two: 4 year commitment-21 months in war zone. Vietnam: 4 year commitment-365 days in country Today-varies-most commitment are 6 years and many have had multiple tours in a war zone.
