Blog A Web site that contains dated text entries in reverse chronological order (most recent first) about a particular topic. Blogs serve many purposes from online newsletters to personal journals to "ranting and raving. " Written by one person or a group of contributors, entries contain commentary and links to other Web sites, and images and videos as well as a search facility may be included.

What is one way you can incorporate blogging into your curriculum to promote student learning? Teachers can use blogs as a current event log, an online portfolio of student work (E-portfolio), or as a type of message board. Teachers can also have students share their research findings, creative writings, Lessons reviews, and so much more. The possibilities are endless, and with Gaggle Blogs, teachers can integrate the tools their students are already using at home into the classroom

Wiki websites are designed to enable users to make additions or edit any page of the site. They often have a common vocabulary and consider themselves a "Wiki" community Wiki

Using a wiki does involve learning about acceptable editing practices (e.g. how to deal with conflicting opinions). Tips for Successful Assignment Design *Allow experimentation time *Ease into it *Remember that collaboration is a skill *Create guidelines or let your students create them *Have an assessment plan and make it clear to the students What is one way your can incorporate wikis into your curriculum to promote student learning?

An audio broadcast that has been converted to an MP3 file or other audio file format for playback in a digital music player. Although many podcasts are played in a regular computer, the original idea was to listen on a portable device; hence, the "pod" name from "iPod." Although podcasts are mostly verbal, they may contain music, images and video. Just like news feeds, podcasts are made available to people via a syndication format. Users install a media aggregator program in their computers such as iTunes or Juice. Also called a "podcatcher," the application captures the audio feeds from the Internet for downloading to the music player. See syndication format. syndication format podcasts

Podcasting with your students can take turns being the “ audio engineer ” and record themselves. This is a great way for them to hear their own mistakes or the quality of their voice, fluency, etc., and be self-motivated to improve. Once they have a recording they are happy with, save the file. We are ready to make any quick edits. Podcasting with your students is a great multimedia tool to consider adding into your classroom repertoire. Once learned, it ’ s something students can create fairly independently, and an impressive way to communicate their thoughts What is one way you can incorporate podcasts into your curriculum to promote student learning?
