Scout Badge Now an official rank that must be earned 4 More requirements have been added Some were previously in the Tenderfoot rank Many are covered in the Webelos Scouting Adventure

Outdoor Program 5 Increased focus on outdoor ethics and leave no trace – not just explaining but also practicing the principles Increased number of campouts for the earlier ranks – six instead of three to make First Class

Physical Fitness 6 Fitness requirements added to Second and First Class, not just Tenderfoot 30 Days for Tenderfoot, 4 weeks for Second Class, 4 weeks for First Class – cannot be concurrently done Requirements added for a greater emphasis on safety issues

Service and Stewardship 7 Tenderfoot, Second and First Class now all have a service requirement Tenderfoot – 1 Hour Second Class – 2 Hours First Class – 3 Hours Must be separate service projects

Scout Spirit 8 At each rank, Scouts will be asked to tell how they have done their duty to God and how they have lived by the Scout Law The interpretation is left to the Scout with no fear of a wrong answer as long as he can articulate his belief

Scout Spirit 9 As a Life Scout, demonstrate Scout Spirit by living the Scout Oath and Scout Law. Tell how you have done your duty to God, how you have lived the Scout Oath and Scout Law in your everyday life, and how your understanding of the Scout Oath and Scout Law will guide your life in the future.
