Math Curriculum We will be grouping for math this year. Math book - McGraw-Hill Spiral Math

Science Curriculum Water Cycle/Natural Resources Matter Weathering and Erosion Electricity/Electromagnets Desert Plants/Animal Adaptations Engineering – building an alarm circuit

Social Studies Curriculum Geography – types of maps, our place in the world, thinking “global” Ancient Indian Tribes/Native dwelling project Pit Fire Tucson Presidio Arizona – state symbols, people, points of interest

Language Arts Curriculum Reading Street by Pearson Book Club Students must read 20 minutes daily (or minimum of 100 minutes per week).  Please help is with reading at home. please know that this is an important time management and lifelong learning skill. ELA weekly packets (incorporates skills such as inference, comparing two passages with similar themes, poetry & prose, first and secondhand accounts, character traits) Writing – paragraph of the week and paired passages

Homework Homework to be expected every week: read 20 minutes weekly writing spelling math – my math homework and spiral math

Communication Students will record all of their homework assignments and school activities in their agenda. Student/parents should check agendas daily for homework assignments. The agenda should be signed by a parent every night. Graded work and school information will be sent home in an envelope every Monday.

Pit Fire We need a lot of volunteers If anyone knows someone with big trucks and access to horse manure - please see me! You can specify Tax credit monies for this event.
