HISTORY God promises a savior for all people Jesus (God’s son) lives a sinless life, and offers a pathway to heaven for all if they believe in him

NEW TESTAMENT The Bible is split into two sections Old Testament (39 books) New Testament (27 books) The New Testament is important to Christians because it contains Jesus’ teachings

NEW TESTAMENT Christians believe that the entire Bible is inspired by God Jews only accept the OT as truth, and believe Jesus’ was not the true savior

TEACHINGS During Jesus’s life, he performed many miracles and spoke moral teachings Miracle – an event that cannot be explained by scientific law; attributed to the supernatural

TEACHINGS Some of Jesus’ most important teaching came from the “Sermon on the Mount” Contains the moral guidance about love, anger, enemies, fasting, and the golden rule

FIVE PILLARS There are five religious duties expected of every Muslim Daily confession of faith Prayer 5 times daily Giving to charity for the poor Fasting during the month of Ramadan Take a pilgrimage to Mecca

MECCA Holiest city in Islam All Muslims must visit once (Hajj) 3 million visit annually Non-Muslims not allowed in during Hajj Muslims must face Mecca during daily prayer
