Volume and Total Surface Area of Sphere

What is a Sphere? A sphere a round solid figure with every point on its surface equidistant from its centre. It is perfectly symmetrical. All points on the surface are the same distance from the centre. It has no corners.

What is a Hemisphere? Can you come up with some real-life examples of hemispheres? A hemi-sphere is half of a sphere.

Recall: Cylinder A cylinder is a special prism with a circular base.

Volume of a Sphere VS Volume of a Cylinder Watch the following video to find out their special relationship! video

Volume of a Sphere VS Volume of a Cylinder What did you observe from the video?

Volume of a Sphere VS Volume of a Cylinder Turn to Textbook p261! How will h relate to r when the sphere is of the same height as the cylinder? h = 2r Replace h with 2r Fill this in your first blank!

Volume of a Sphere VS Volume of a Cylinder Turn to Textbook p261! Recall,
