Emerging Issues in Contemporary Context  Teenagers do not undergo training under authorized trainers.  Ignorant of safety norms  At the age of 16 years teens drive a vehicle above 100 cc which is violation of law.  1 out of 5 teenage drivers meet with Accidents.  Indulge in risky behaviours on road.

Crystallizing Goals for  Learning About Road Signs – Roads Speak  Curb Underage Driving  Discourage Risky Behaviours  Use Public Transport TO REDUCE 40% OF TEEN DEATHS ON ROADS

Developing Perspective of the Project It will reduce -Deaths -Serious Injuries -Trauma -Under Age Driving It will encourage -Use of public Transport -Build safe community -Groom Law abiding Citizens Learning about road signs & traffic rules

IDEAS To conduct a survey of stakeholders in shaping attitudes and behaviours. -To Interact with Road Safety Club Volunteers -To Design Questionnaire for Parents -Interact with Management, Principal & Teachers -Meet the actors of prevention > Police Commissioner Delhi Traffic Police > Michellin India Limited > PVR Nest Develop an Action Plan to spread awareness.

Observations Serious Concern – 56% of teens rely on parents to learn driving Parents Attitude towards Traffic Norms 3000 parents responded to the questionnaire

Identifying Other Issues Indifferent attitude of teens towards the safety of others and self safety -Do not wear helmet while driving -Tripling -Zig-Zag driving on road -Parents allow driving scooty below 12 years Ignorance of road signs -Play on road -Run across a moving vehicle -Jay walking

INITIATIVES Divided ourselves into groups to handle core issues -Theatre Group -Road Safety Prefects -Club volunteers  Spread awareness about road signs  We volunteered to discourage under age driving Master Trainers motivate us to adopt public transport.
