WP 4 planned activities AIM of WP4: to organize activities aimed at providing language support at HEIs in Serbia for their full participation in EHEA. FIRST STEP: to contact the assigned task leaders at RS HEI

WP 4 planned activities A 4.1 : To establish cooperation networks among all language professionals at Serbian partner universities (foreign language teachers at HEIs, translators/interpreters, international officers at Serbian universities) in order to constitute work teams which will outline a plan for offering various kinds of language support services at their institutions. Initial work team WP coordinator + task leaders: start and intensify communication Networks: At each partner HEI Nationally (connection with LSP teachers Association) Contact letters till the end of 2014

A4.2: To devise guidelines for providing language support to teaching staff and to organize foreign language classes for them in order to improve their language skills and competences, and generally, to improve translation services at Serbian universities. -WP team devises and administrates a questionnaire about current situation, needs analysis, possible ideas (till April 2015) - Later, on the basis of this input, devise guidelines, involving various stakeholders

A4.3: To organize language support services for university administrative and other non-teaching staff by designing ESP courses for them and implementing them -Assign team for ESP courses writing and preliminary ideas (till May 2015) -Needs analysis at faculty and university level -Courses due September 2016 /Teaching materials due September Courses implemented – October 2016 All Serbian partner universities will be involved in providing a model for English-for-specific-purposes

A4.4. To develop guidelines for organizing language support for foreign students coming to Serbian institutions (Serbian classes) Work team to include Serbian language teachers and HEIs (teams assigned till June 2015) Analyze current models and practices (questionnaire till September 2015) Model course(s) designed (also online! good experimental practice starting at UNI)

Cooperation with EU partners The model for language support will be designed in cooperation with EU partner universities (UMA,UJ, UNIBA and MUNI) on their experience in this field : the models of Spanish/Polish/German/Czech language courses for foreign students

In this period there were no activities directly related to the planned WP deliverables, however there were some indirect activities, which stemmed from the study visits to EU partners, where, besides other issues, language support services for staff and academic courses in English and language courses were examined and discussed. Moreover, the WP4 leader has informally communicated the essence of the forthcoming activities at FUSE to numerous colleagues, even before the start of the official networking activities at FUSE.
