Skeletal Muscles. 2 Skeletal Muscle Actions Skeletal muscles generate a great variety of body movements. The action of each muscle depends upon the type.
Muscles of Arm Head, Face and Neck
Muscles of the face, neck and shoulder area Unlike other muscles in the body, facial muscles are attached to the skin of the face. This is why we get.
Muscles of Facial Expression. Levator Labii Superioris Origin: Frontal process of maxilla Insertion: Upper lip muscles and nasal cartilage. Action: Elevates.

O I A Head 1/

Epicranius O: Occipital Bone I: Skin/Muscles around the Eye A: Raises Eyebrows

Orbicularis Oculi O: Maxillary and Frontal Bone I: Skin around the eye A: Closes Eye

An unusual case of proptosis An open biopsy through the skin crease of the right eye revealed an uncapsulated orange coloured lesion between the orbicularis oculi and the orbital septum with infiltration of the levator aponeurosis.

Orbicularis Oris O: Muscles near the mouth I: Skin of lips A: Closes and protrudes lips

Buccinator O: Maxilla and Mandible I: Orbicularis Oris A: Compresses Cheek inwards

Zygomaticus Major O: Zygomatic Bone I: Orbicularis Oris A: Raises corner of the mouth

Platysma O: Fascia in upper chest I: Lower border of the Mandible A: Draws angle of mouth downward

Masseter O: Lower border of the Zygomatic arch I: Lateral Surface of the Mandible A: Closes jaw

Temporalis O: Temporal Bone I: Coronoid Process/lateral surface of the mandible A: Closes Jaw
