The differential diagnosis was periapical cyst vs. granuloma. (B) Extraoral panoramic radiography provides a complete view of the maxillary and mandibular bones and neighboring structures. This radiographic technique is widely used as a screening tool. This panoramic radiograph, taken on an 18-yr- old patient, shows the presence of unerupted third molars (wisdom teeth). A small well-defined radiolucent area is evident around the crown of the maxillary left third molar (arrow).
