What its all about Last year in summary It is always surprising how much FONS manages to raise each year. Last year, we generated a total profit of £4834 that we can use to provide additional and exciting resources and experiences for the children at school. Our donations help to make school life that little bit more rewarding and memorable, and every child benefits. In addition to the murals painted in the library last summer, this year we have also purchased the following items for school £620 for sports kits £900 for library storage boxes and beanbags Donations to a theatre trip and classroom equipment including a wildlife garden and reception bookbags In total, FONS donated over £2000 to school last year We are also planning to buy a new CD player and outside benches for the playground. Our bank account is looking healthy, so we are looking forward to helping the school in many other ways during the year. Welcome everyone to the first newsletter of 2014 / 15. For parents with children attending school for the first time, FONS (Friends of Newborough School) is a fundraising body that organises a huge variety of social functions and other activities for the benefit of the school community. Funds we raise go directly towards making improvements to the school environment and facilities. In recent years, we have funded the climbing wall in the school playground, Smartboards,, computers and tablets and last year we arranged for the murals you can see in the library. Within this Newsletter, you’ll find details of the activities we’ve already held in the Autumn Term and our plans for our usual hectic Christmas schedule.
