BUTLINS VISIT JUNE 2016 PHOENIX FEDERATION

BASIC INFORMATION 36 children – 20 girls and 16 boys 10 Staff (Female - KH/RG/CT/CW/JP & Male LY/SW/CL/TP + DG) 11 apartments – 3/4 children per unit with two used as meeting room/storage. Staying at Butlins Minehead Travelling – 3 minibuses + van for luggage and Equipment – 6 trained drivers First Aid – 4 fully trained staff Complete set of Risk assessments carried out by staff including a recent visit (May 25 th )

FOOD! Half Board at Butlins Breakfast around 8.30 (Except Skern) Evening Meal from 5.30 – 6.30 Lunch – packed lunch partly from food carried by us + fresh sandwiches/cakes from a local bakery. Choice! Evening snack/drink Any allergies????

THE PROGRAMME MONDAY Early start for an 8.00am leave Travel to Cheddar Gorge. Visit the caves and have lunch – Jacob’s Ladder! On to Minehead Book in……SWIM! Evening meal Orienteering

WHERE ARE WE?

WHAT TO BRING CLOTHES Much of the week will not be a fully fledged fashion show! Something smart to wear in the evenings Couple of really old T shirts are essential A really old pair of trainers is helpful CASH Maximum of £30 Looked after by staff …….. to ensure that it lasts!! CONCERNS…..over the things that cost!

WHAT TO BRING Games to play on journeys (quiet!) Ipod? Books/comics/magazines Food for lunch on Monday A water bottle – we’ll refill it regularly Hat/cap Sunglasses? Suncream TRAVEL SICKNESS TABLETS – to staff 2 inhalers – one kept by staff Any medicines – discuss with staff tonight and hand to staff on day of leaving Any further medicine (happening in between) ring school and inform Mrs Dowds.

WHAT TO BRING….. FOR THE JOURNEY Lunch! Carrier Bag! Drinks Throw it away! WHEN WE ARRIVE Swimming Kit! Separate Bag or Backpack! NOT in your case or other bag.

WHAT NOT TO BRING! No mobile phones (suggest a stamped addressed envelope ready to write to you with a postcard inside or buy a postcard at Butlins). We will contact school as soon as we arrive in Minehead. Contact via Twitter and the website. No expensive jewellery No expensive toys or games No HUGE hampers of sweets etc!

AND WE WILL HAVE……… Lunch provisions for Tues/Wed/Thur/Fri Plenty of drinks for during the day Evening drinks (hot and cold) and biscuits Medical supplies Lots of games and equipment Plenty space - 3 minibuses – 42 spaces for the children and only 36 going. The van carries all the luggage and equipment.

AND WE WILL ALL HAVE……… A GREAT TIME!
