Verb Phrases Verbs that are made up of more than one word are verb phrases.

Main Verbs In a verbal phrase the main verb names the action. It is always the last word in a verb phrase.

Helping Verbs The helping verb helps tell the time of the action. There may be more than one helping verb in a verb phrase.
