YEAR SIX VISIT TO THE ISLE OF WIGHT 13 th June – 17 th June 2016

Denewood Hotel Sandown We are the only occupants of the hotel All rooms en-suite Within walking distance of many attractions Home cooked meals

Monday 7:30 am - Children arrive at school 8.00am – Coach leaves 11:00 am – Ferry (Lunch on ferry - please provide) 12:30pm – Arrive at hotel, unpack and settle in! 2:00pm – Crazy Golf at Sandham Gardens 5pm – Back to hotel. Dinner. Evening - Exploring the local area – beach visit.

Tuesday 9:30 am - Depart hotel 10:00am – Arrive at Robin Hill County Park 12:30pm – Meet for lunch 2:00pm – Games and activities on large playing green at Robin Hill Evening – Shanklin Theatre Show

Wednesday 9:30 am - Depart hotel 10:00am – Black Gang Chine 12:30pm – Lunch at Black Gang Chine 2:00pm – Black Gang Chine Evening – Waltzing Waters

Thursday 9:15am – Depart Hotel 10:00am – IOW Zoo and Tiger Sanctuary 12:30pm - Lunch 2:00pm – Alum Bay (including boat cruise and Chair lift) Evening – Disco back at hotel

Friday 8:30am – Depart hotel 9:30am – Ferry back to Portsmouth 11:00am – Spinnaker Tower in Gunwharf Quays 4:00pm – Approximate arrival back at school

Kit Please see kit list provided. A few pieces of advice The children HAVE to carry their own bags (including up the stairs in the hotel), so don’t over pack! Remember to include black sacks for dirty/ damp clothes for the journey home Pay attention to the NOT ALLOWED list. This is enforced by the hotel).

Hot Weather Please pack sun cream and hat. We will be reminding the children throughout the week about sun cream however they will need to be able to apply it themselves. Please pack a named water bottle

Money Pocket money is limited to £25 for the week. (Although you do not have to bring this much!) Monday’s money (£5) should be in a named wallet in the pupil’s rucksack on the coach All other money (£20)should be put in clearly named envelopes and handed to their class teacher on the Friday before we leave (10 th June). Please provide 4 separate envelopes which are clearly labelled with your child’s name and £5 ONLY in each envelope

Sweets We will provide sweets which will be distributed throughout the week. Please do not pack any sweets in your child’s suitcase. Any found will be taken and given back to you on our return.

Medicines Asthma Pumps. (2 pumps) We will bring the child’s pump they keep at school but children should ALSO be handed another asthma pump which they should have packed. Medical Conditions All medical conditions and daily medicines should be clearly written onto the consent forms. Medicine should be clearly labelled with child’s name and required dosage and handed to the child’s class teacher by Wednesday 8 th June (the week before we go).

Electronics & Mobile Phones No electronic devices or mobiles phones are to be brought. (We will not be held responsible if any are lost or damaged. If we do find any, we will confiscate them for the remainder of the week). The hotel has stipulated no hair dryers or straightners.
