Stained Glass Geometric Panel

Learning Targets  I can pose and solve artistic problems using the creative process and a variety of techniques and media.  I can use both traditional and contemporary techniques.  I can make art using a variety of new techniques and materials.  I can reflect on works in progress and make revisions.

New Tool  Assembly Jig (Push Pins and Strips): You will need push pins and jig to hold the pattern down and add pieces as you are cutting and grinding to check for fit. You will leave it on to stabilize your glass while soldering.

Requirements  Perimeter of 36” (32” minimum, 36” maximum)  Shortest side has a maximum of 8 1/2” (so I can photocopy)  Make the pattern FULL SIZE!  4 sided shape – square or rectangle  # of shapes: minimum 15, maximum 35 Straight edged geometric shapes (circles require extra approval)  Create Contrast (VARIETY)  Add zinc frame to outer edge of soldered piece  Add hanging loops  Upon approval of design, students should number and label their pattern and present for copying..

What’s Wrong with this design? How would you adapt to work for stained glass?
