Prewriting Brainstorm- get your ideas out (circle map) Organize- choose the ideas you want to write about from your brainstorm and make a plan for your paper (tree map)

Drafting Write your ideas from your plan (tree map) into sentences and paragraphs. You will make mistakes! We will fix them later Spell the best you can! Skip lines

Revising Make your draft better Use your red pen Remember ARMS- Add, Remove, Move, Substitute

Add Hooks and Introductions Topic Sentences Transition words Elaborate- details to make your ideas clear Conclusion section or statement Remove any sentence that does not stay on topic in your writing. “Squirrel” Move any sentences to a different paragraph if it fits better with the paragraph’s main idea or category.
