The Group IV Project 2011

The aims of the Group IV project appreciate the environmental, social and ethical implications of science;

The aims of the Group IV project understand the limitations of scientific study;

The aims of the Group IV project develop planning skills;

The aims of the Group IV project work in team s;

The aims of the Group IV project carry out an extended open investigation of your own choosing.

Addressing aims 7 and 8 To develop and apply the students’ information and communication technology skills in the study of science. or/and To raise awareness of the moral, ethical, social, economical and environmental implications of using science and technology.

Assessment Internal Assessment G4 is assessed for the personal skills criterion and this will be the only place where this criterion is assessed. See attached document for the details of this criterion.

Stage 1: Planning Grouping: Mixed subject group. Students studying two group 4 subjects are not required to do two separate action phases. Brainstorm and discuss the topic.

Groups After this presentation… Leader names will be announced. You must find your group. The leader must inform group member and names to me.

WRITTEN EVIDENCE Each group is to provide a Group IV report or a printout of power point presentation. You must hand-in one print- out.
