PROBLEM STATEMENT LIBRARY SERVICES To investigate how library services can be repositioned with the advent and utilization of Web 2.0 tools.
Main: To appraise the utilization of Web 2.0 tools in repositioning library system services in Nigeria. Specifics: To: Find out the Web 2.0 tools available in libraries Identify areas in libraries where the available Web 2.0 tools are applied. Find out the extent of application of these available Web 2.0 tools in libraries Find out the challenges in using the identified Web 2.0 tools Identify strategies to enhance the challenges in using the identified Web 2.0 tools. OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY
What is Web 2.0? Gabrela (2009) defined web 2.0 as the social use of the web which enables users to collaborate, create content, generate knowledge and share information online. Web 2.0 service Examples: Facebook, Youtube, Flickr, Twitter, Wikipedia, etc.
Area of Study: Nigeria Research Design: Descriptive Survey Instrument: Questionnaire 350 questionnaire copies were distributed to librarians that attended academic and research library session of the 2011 NLA National conference, while 297 copies were returned.
