SESSION 4 LEARNING DISABILITY & HOME SAFETY

LEARNING DISABILITY Before any telecare equipment is considered, there must be a clear understanding of what might upset the user and hence be unsuitable:  Loud Noises  Flashing Lights  Automated Voice  Human Voice May cause person to behave inappropriately or even aggressively – think of what affect different types of equipment will have on the user

LEARNING DISABILITY Less intrusive equipment can be supplied:  Silent sensors  No flashing lights  Hidden equipment If you have equipment in mind, but require any of the above tailoring, contact us direct as engineers can usually find a solution.

HOME SAFETY The following telecare sensors can be installed should there be a risk to user within the home:  Flood Detector  Smoke Detector  Temperature Extreme (High or Low Temperature)  Natural Gas Detector  Harassment or Bogus Callers There has to be a specific response in place for bogus caller button and we need to be advised of this on request form. If police is to respond immediately button is pressed, you must provide police contact who agreed.
