Drop In Session Management Restructure Proposed Assessment Overview

The Session – What is it about? It’s about –Informing you of what a management restructure assessment process ‘may’ look like, so you can start to think about preparing. It’s not about –Discussing the merits or otherwise of the changes that the Trust are proposing.

Proposed Assessment Process

Skills Audit CompetencyAccredited Education CPDPersonal Attributes Leading and Deciding Formal Education that links to evidence competency -Foundation degree in Paramedic science Could link to numerous competency areas How your CPD links and evidences competency Eg. – Clinical updates could evidence ‘Applying expertise and technology’ which sits under ‘Analysing and Interpreting’ Egs of how on a day to day basis ‘you’ evidence this competence in your role NB: You may not have evidence in each column, you are looking for good evidence under each row.

Online Testing Done via SHL (Saville Holdsworth Limited) –20 years+ experience in this field Testing will focus on key competency areas for each role All competencies will be covered, some that are more important will be weighted.

Job Match An online test, with several sections that will identify your strengths and development areas against each competency. 2 specific types of section/test –Ability (Numeracy, Verbal Reasoning, Inductive etc.) –Personality Based

Online Testing (continued) Personality/Preference Based A series of questions on how you prefer to act Questions are asked more than once in different ways to ensure consistency of overall score/test result

Ability Tests Verbal – verbal reasoning skills Numeracy – multiple choice in some cases Inductive – you are given some random information in a paragraph, then you have a choice of say 4 answers on what is the most logical conclusion you can draw from that information

Management Scenarios (note Locality Manager (8a) and above only Ability based test on how you manage/would manage certain scenarios at work – multiple choice

Presentation and Competency Based Interview Presentation – topic to be given beforehand or on the day Competency Based Interview –Guidance can be found on Learning Zone under useful resources –Other preparation – start to think about what examples you’d like to use in interview –Use supporting information from skills audit form as guidance
