Scavenger Hunt! You and your partner will complete the Scavenger Hunt answer sheet. 1.Start at your assigned card. Have one person complete the problem on the card in the correct slot on the answer sheet. 2.Using the QR reader on your ipad, scan the code for the answer on a different card. 3.Once you find and verify your answer, complete the problem on that card and repeat the process. The last card should lead you back to the first card. 4.Turn in the completed answer sheet. Factor or simplify each polynomial. Find and verify answers using QR code. This task uses: QR Reader Ipad Provided Worksheet Learning Objective(s): Add, subtract, and multiply polynomials Factor polynomials using special products Factor by grouping S SUBSTITUTION Technology acts a direct substitute, with no functional improvement

Factoring Practice 1.Scan your QR code to find your group’s whiteboard and view your assigned problem. 2.Enter your nickname/identifier. 3.Using the chat feature, what color each person will be using as well as the order you will be working in. 4.Complete the assigned problem by factoring the polynomial. 5.Once the problem is complete, Student 1 will take a screenshot of the work and upload it the the Blackboard Assignment manager. Use Stoodle to collaborate on an assignment. This task uses: QR Reader Website tool: Stoodle and Blackboard Learning Objective(s): Collaborate to factor a trinomial by grouping. Type Type 1 vs Type 2 1.Working with your partner, you will first watch the video “Teach Me How to Factor”. 2.Open up Safari on the ipad, then navigate to and log onto Blackboard. 3.Select my name under your courses. 4.Open PreCalculus, then click on Type 1 vs Type 2 Discussion. 5.Click on “+” to add a new entry and type “Your Name, Partner’s Name” i.e., John Doe, Mary Smith in the Subject window. 6.Answer the following: a. List the different ways to factor a type 1 trinomial. b. Explain how to factor a type 2 trinomial. (List the steps in your explanation.) 7. Reply to at least two other posts and clear up any misconceptions. Students will collaborate on a discussion forum. This task uses: Ipad Blackboard Mobile App Learning Objective(s): Compare and contrast factoring Type 1 and Type 2 trinomials. M MODIFICATION Technology allows for significant task redesign.

Tellagami!!! 1.You and your partner will use an app called Telligami to create an animation which explains how to factor Type 2 trinomials. 2.It is important to plan what you say because the video will can only be 30 seconds long. Before you start recording, collaborate with your partner to include all relevant information needed for the video. You may want to write a brief script or outline. 3.Open the Telligami app and read over the “How To”. Choose a character, an emotion, and a background. You may use the doodle feature on your background. 4.Click on the “back arrow” to get back to your screen to record. Click the “record” button when you are ready to begin. Click the “preview” button to see what your gami will look and sound like. When you are satisfied, click “share”. Make sure you click the “save” option so that your video will be saved to the camera roll. 5.Open the safari app on the ipad and go to Log onto Blackboard and find your class. Navigate to PreCalculus > Telligami!!! Blog. Click on “Create Blog Entry” to create a new blog. In the title line, type in “Your Name, Partner’s Name”. Click on the “attachment” icon at the top of the page and then scroll down and click on “Browse my Computer”. Find your video from the camera roll and click “use”. If you didn’t have enough time to say all you wanted to say in the video, type in the additional information in the blog entry. Click “Post”. 6.View at least two other gami videos and comment on them. Use the Tellagami app to create an animated video to explain how to factor a type 2 trinomial and upload the video to Blackboard for peer review. This task uses: Ipad Camera App Telegami App Blackboard Learning Objective(s): Explain the steps for factoring a type 2 trinomial. Create a video animation. Peer review other video animations.
