FORCE The FORCE is strong with this one…

FORCE A FORCE is a push or a pull on an object

Heavy load light load

FORCE The heavier an object is, the more force you will need to move it

Types of forces

gravity

MAGNETISM A force that causes a magnet to attract or repel objects

FRICTION A soccer ball rolling on the grass stops because of friction

FRICTION On a wet or icy surface, there is less friction, and people slip easily

FRICTION

Friction can sometimes produce sound and heat energy

A car will skid more on a wet road than on a dry road. This happens because between the tires and the dry road, there is more — A gravity B magnetism C friction D heat

A car will skid more on a wet road than on a dry road. This happens because between the tires and the dry road, there is more — C Friction Friction is a force that cause objects to slow down or stop. Wet road are slippery and have less friction.

position Motion happens when an object changes position—move from one point to another MOTION

All changes in motion are caused by FORCES

MOTION When you turn the handle bars, you are using a force to change the bike’s direction FORCE CHANGES MOTION

MOTION FORCE CHANGES MOTION When you pedal your bike harder, you are using more force and your bike goes faster

When you put on the brakes, friction is the force that slows your bike down MOTION FORCE CHANGES MOTION

You can describe the speed of a moving object

Speed tells how fast an object is moving

That means it moves a distance of 50 miles in one hour A car might travel at a speed of 50mph

An increase in an objects speed during a period of time
