M3 Jump Start Workshop Business Scenarios, Installations, Testing Hanns-Georg Rybak (M3) & Pedro Sales (MARLO) DD.MM.YYYY

Planned Agenda – Day 1 IT Community Proposed participants: Pedro Sales, Hub IT Manager

Planned Agenda – Day 2 User Community Proposed participants: Operation Manager, Operation Super Users, 3M Transportation Coordinator, 3M Deployment Manager, MARLO Deployment Manager, (Hub IT Manager)

Planned Agenda – Day 3 Proposed participants: Operation Manager, Operation Super Users, 3M Transportation Coordinator, HG Rybak, Hub IT Manager, Pedro Sales

The „Jump Start Workshop“ Format On Site Presence M3 & MARLO Deployment Managers All Super Users and Hub IT Supporters Common introduction Alignment on testing: why, who, what, how Expected Results Get printing up and running Get messaging up and running Print all documents Test main risk scenarios Enable Super Users to continue testing in high quality and speed

Business Specification / „Quality Manual“ Why Operation and Deployment Team need to understand the business in all aspects We need to (relatively) fix agreements how to run the business the best way, and which solution M3 provides We need to create understanding for the value proposition We need to transform business and operation rules into configuration rules We need to propose the best process to the operation

Business Specification – Setting the Scene Project focus, Context, Decisions and Agreements Hub function; current specifics and process Future addresses, function, reconstruction process Business scenarios Transport Instructions, Task Sheets M3 process & functions Focus on reconstruction process and wave execution Proposed working process: rules, settings, process flow Layout proposal

General Walkthrough: M3 process step by step Add trailers to a processing wave Plan wave = build consignment tasks, driven by config & presort rules Release wave for processing to RDT/PDAs Presort scan, segregation of goods, sorting Reconstruction scan, pallet close, task close Cleanup the floor, exception handling, close wave Open container, scan to trailer/container

Business Scenarios Main customers and their expectations (describe main customers and expectations) Translate Hub Instructions List into 3M CST/CPB instructions list Parcel service exclusions / enforcing reconstruction of pallets Reconstruction rules by customers Transform into M3 rules and 3M Instruction REPR rules Which is the standard service in the Hub? Pallet types, wrapping, sorting, … Always wrapped; always sorted SKU on pallet (SSPR); … Hazardous goods exclusions? Oversize product exclusions and oversize rule? Dispatch advice activities – what is really needed, and when: pallet, parcel, fromup how many pallets: no requirement placed, but touching process activities executed

Transport carriers used outbound the hub Carrier 1 to x Rules for reconstructed parcels Rules for reconstructed pallets Pallet types – do we need to exchange pallet types? TMS-EDI: to which TMSs

Printing Mechanisms 1 - Standard Method: Web/Cloud Printing from PDA to WEB to Print Agent Allows to print all packing lists for a task when closing a task (bulk print) Response time: 10 seconds for label, 20 to 40 seconds for packing lists Useful in pallet recon scenarios with many packing lists Always delivers ALL packing lists with the LAST pallet of a TASK Always available as fallback method, if direct printing is not switched on 2 - Special Method: Direct Printing between PDA/RDT and Print Agent Mandatory when using parcel service labelling (loose cartons, recon parcel) Useful when processing loose cartons or recon tasks with one or few packing lists Can be set by PDA/RDT scanning the print agent barcode Provides the label within 0.5 to 3 seconds Delivers the packing list within 10 seconds Always delivers the packing list with the FIRST carton of a SHIPMENT 3 - Special Method: Link PDA to Printer Allows to direct label to mobile printers, to ensure the label appears on the printer wherever the shop floor staff walks Useful when working with several people in one presort area CLOUD

Operation: Scan Variants, Layout Process variants to use Presort, recon scan, finish pallet and task. Place cartons in front of pallet Presort, build container, finish container and task. AFTER SOME WHILE and 3M audit: Auto mode: presort to recon shortcut. Place reconstructed cartons to pallet immediately, one-by-one. Finish pallet and task. Layout considerations Material flow and printing

Operation Tools Presort Recon Location Placard Maker Badge Maker (for User Badges) Scan Variant Placards

Introduction to testing Why is testing necessary Responsibilities Test tools, risk assessment, risk reduction strategy Functional testing - FUT Process integration testing – PIT User acceptance testing and integrated training – UAT Structured Test: Evidence of testing and test documentation Test planning and progress tracking Go-live preparation

Introduction to planning & wave execution Selecting trailers for wave planning Changing / trimming planning results Execute wave reconstruction and recon status monitoring Identifying disconnects: OSD – overage, shortage, damage. Detect, process and report Close wave and cleanup Peak detection, how to deal with huge consignments
