Drill/ Extracurricular The purpose of drill and other activities is to engage cadets in meaningful and developmental activities to improve self discipline and unit cohesiveness. Richards NJROTC adheres to this standard. Armed and Unarmed Drill Teams Practice daily, compete in competition, and march in parades. Air Rifle Team District air rifle championship team Competed in Ohio Area 3 air rifle competition. 5 personal bests. Competed in East Aurora Classic. Two personal bests. High score to date. (440) Orienteering Team 2 nd place finish at Bloomfield orienteering competition 1 st place individual finish at Harms Woods Orienteering competition 3 rd place Orienteering Winter Fun Run Academic team Advance to 2 nd round

Community Service “ The connection and relationship with the community that develops from community service adds an invaluable layer to education.” Community service Wolfe Wildlife Preserve clean up Leaf Raking project for the city of Oak Lawn helping out the school (open house, registration, Career day) $500 check to Wounded Heroes Foundation (2011) Oak Lawn Fourth of July Parade Color Guards for various community events for Veterans Day, 9-11, etc. Compassion Make a difference fundraiser for Anthony Toledo Honor Flight Chicago (2 times 2012)

Bulldog company has made an impact in the school and the community NJROTC cadets set the standard for behavior and discipline in the school Cadets assume leadership positions in JROTC, the school, and the community. Such roles include: Peer Mediation President and Vice President Spanish Honors Society President of Aviation Club Varsity Speech Team Members

Fulfilling a Purpose The HLR NJROTC program is fulfilling its purpose of bettering cadets, the school, and the community. “ Members of JROTC exhibit the qualities and core values that we all aspire to live by.
