Presentation transcript:

A Look at the Application Authorized users can access Communicator! NXT from any Internet-capable computer via the Web.

A Look at the Security Communicator! NXT has an extensive security model maintained at the Intranet/Internet, Server, Application and Administrative levels. Intranet/Internet – the server can be installed behind a firewall and supports 256-bit SSL data encryption Server – ability to separate the web server from the database, restricted access to administrators and continued server hardening enhancements Application – multi-level and granular  Allows multiple segregated Company specific databases  Manage user privileges through multiple Security Roles  Assign security users Department permissions for contact data maintenance  Assign security users specific permissions to selected Groups and/or Scenarios (e.g., modify, activate, delete, view, etc.) Administrative – exclusive ability to administer security users and define Company specific parameters (Custom Fields, Departments, etc.)

A Look at the Components To build a Scenario, you will 1) add Contacts, 2) create Groups, 3) create Messages, and then 4) add these components to create Scenarios. View activation results by using the Reports module. System administrators will use the Settings module to manage security and customize information.

Contact Database The Contact database contains information about those individuals you may need to notify during events or situations. This information includes Login Name, User ID, address, notification devices and customized, company-specific data elements. Data can be 1) entered manually, 2) imported using one of the available import options, or 3) imported via XML API by users granted this security and/or department permission.

Contact Database General and Address Information includes the ability to: Exclude contact(s) from activations (e.g., vacation) Receive Activation Reports Change Password and PIN Device Information Variety of device types (Phone, , Fax, Alpha Pager, Numeric Pager and Mobile ) Allows multiple phone types (Home, Work, Cell, Satellite, Other) to be defined Allows multiple entries for any one device type Custom Fields Information Customize contact information by defining unique fields pertaining to your organization Use these data values to dynamically build groups based on this information

Groups Static Group Select individual contacts to be included Order contacts in the desired notification sequence Print group reports listing members and their information Define access/permissions to select security users Contacts can be members of multiple groups Dynamic Group Define one or more criteria to group contacts (e.g., use any contact data element including defined custom fields) Automatically updates whenever data changes Sort contacts in the desired notification sequence Print group reports listing members and their information Define access/permissions to select security users Contacts can be members of multiple groups

Messages Messages Summary A variety of message types allows critical information to be sent to a variety of devices. View messages by device type or a complete listing Create ‘baseline’ messages that can be changed as needed upon activation Voice Message Record a voice message – or – Convert typed text to voice using Text-to-Speech Insert AutoText (system data: date, time, etc.) Deliver voice message as an attachment Other Message Types Create messages for all message types on one page (Voice, , Mobile , Alpha Pager, Numeric Pager and Fax) Include Attachments to and fax messages (e.g., drawings, alternate procedures, maps, etc.) Insert AutoText (system data macros) in messages

Scenarios: Instant Activate & Pre-Defined Instant Activate Quickly create and activate a Scenario in 3 easy steps from one page (system default settings are used): 1) Choose Contacts and/or Groups 2) Create one Message to be sent to all devices 3) Click Activate Default Settings can be changed at Advanced Settings Pre-Defined Scenario Build scenarios in advance with custom settings to fit each unique notification situation by defining: Duration of activation and number of contact Attempts Call Flow template defining speech segments Devices to contact and in what sequence order Groups to notify and number of required respondents Message to be delivered to each device type Reports to be distributed and to whom (optional) Security permissions to select users (optional) Schedule to recur automatically at specified intervals

Activating a Pre-Defined Scenario Simple as 1 – 2 – 3! 1. Log into the system 2. Select desired scenario & click ‘Proceed to Activation’ 3. Click Activate

Ready, Set, Go, Done Activate via computer 1) Instant Activate. Create & activate from one page. 2) Pre-Defined Scenarios. Preplan Contacts, Groups, Messages, Scenario Settings and Schedule for quick & easy activations for any situation. Activate via phone Authorized users simply call the number for your system, provide the User ID, Password and Scenario ID. Additional security can be added, as well. NXT Remote Activation Phone Number: Activation Monitor Allows designated users to view real-time progress of up to five activations.

Reports Standard Reports Activation Contact Status Activation Detail (By Name) Activation Detail (By Time) Activation Summary Exception Qualification Qualification and Exception Response Status Scenario Personnel Status Reports Tracks all activated scenarios so reports can be generated for any currently running or prior scenario activations in.pdf or.xls (.csv) format. (Access to Reports is based on security permissions.)

Settings Custom Fields Customize contact information by defining unique fields pertaining to your organization, and then use these data values to dynamically build groups. Pager Services Define specific pager service requirements, such as, PIN, phone number and call flow (e.g., NxTPager, Pet, SNPP, Onset, SimpleWire_SMS, etc.). Security Users Provide contacts access to Communicator! NXT and define the permissions a user is granted. Contacts can be assigned a Role (or a specific set of permissions). Departments Use as a security control to grant specific individuals the authority to update contact information for everyone assigned to a particular department.
