Thursday 10 th September, 2015 Number 1 AFTER SCHOOL CLUBS MONDAY 14 SeptFILM CLUB to 5pm WEDNESDAY 16 SeptARCHERY – pm THURSDAY 17 SeptDue to staff meeting there will be NO Craft club CLUBS COST £1 EACH Welcome back to the new school year, I hope everyone has had a lovely summer break. We are looking forward to another exciting, busy year here at St Matthew’s. Staff have been very busy over the summer planning the curriculum and preparing for the year ahead. Due to increased numbers Mrs Vear and Mrs Johnston will both be working in school part time. We also welcome Miss K Conway, she will be in school two days each week as a volunteer, as part of her level 3 teaching assistant qualification. We are also delighted to welcome Mrs L Eckersley, new school cook, early reports from the children are very good. As always we welcome anyone who would like to help in school for anything from listening to readers to assisting in craft sessions or mounting work for display etc. Please let me know if you would like to help. We have already welcomed nine new children Olivia Armstrong, Yasmin Brown, Codie Elliot, Isabella Henderson, Jake Mashiter, Alfie Sanderson, Thom Sanderson, Sophie Scott and Rebecca Williamson into our reception class. (See back page for photo). The transition from pre-school to school has been really smooth as they all know school really well from attending pre-school. Our theme this term is SPACE AND PLANETS. As always we have an open door policy at St Matthew’s and if anyone has any problems of difficulties regarding your child do not hesitate to get in touch. Mrs Satterthwaite. FOREST SCHOOL On Friday 11 th Sept it’s Receptions turn to do Forest School. They will need to bring old clothes and wellies tomorrow. RUGBY TOURNAMENT On Monday 14 th Sept.
