Edu 645 Learning and assessment for the 21 st Century Professor Deana Plaskon

Hi my name is Taquanda Graham I am from North Carolina born and raised. I am now 30 years old (which my birthday is today). I am also a single mom of one son, his name is Tyler Graham. Tyler is mommies reason for all that I do, my pride and joy. I also am a fulltime student and employee at Best Buy, where my role is a Geek Squad agent. I have been employed at Best Buy for 10 years. I also graduated from Fayetteville State University in 2014 with my bachelors degree.

I am now persueing my Masters degree in Special Education here at Ashford University. I really spend most of my time at work, but after all my work is done I spend my time with my son. With my spare time I teach my son and send time with my family. I do a lot of skype because my boyfriend is overseas in England. On the days I have off my life never stops its volunteer at my sons school I am a very involved with my son and his education.

Special Education stands out to me when I think about the MAED. During my undergraduate years I did a lot of hours of shadowing special education classes as well as the students and teachers. I have also worked with the students with disabilities. In all aspects of the classroom weather special education or regular students each child want to feel confortable and also cared about. If our students see that we care they will care more.

Assessments are used to get the knowledge of each students, to see what they know and understand. Now our students are learning and retaiing in so many ways. I do think assessments are sometimes good and bad. I think some are hard for some students so they don’t preform as well as others.
