Lesson 9 – K Grade Yarn Rainbow

Today’s LessonSkill Development: Today you will learn about fiber art using yarn to create your own unique rainbow. Introduction to crochet, tapestry and weaving. Use of a new medium – wool / yarn. You will learn: To create a design and execute into a 3D art piece. Yarn Rainbow

What is Fiber art? It refers to fine art whose material consists of fiber and other components such as fabric or yarn. It focuses on the materials as well as the artists manual labor (work) as parts of the works’ significance. There is a prioritization of aesthetic value over its use or utility. Yarn Rainbow

How do we make yarn? In order for the fiber to be made into cloth or clothing, it must be spun or twisted into a strand known as yarn. The strands can be dyed into many colors and then made into cloth by Knitting or crochet or weaving. Yarn Rainbow
