At North Fayette Valley High School we believe that all students need to be prepared to pursue additional education beyond high school. Whether that is a two-year, four- year, technical program, or through the military, our mission is to prepare each student to be ready for those challenges.

When I was growing up, my parents told me, “Finish your dinner. People in China and India are starving.” I tell my daughters, “Finish your homework. People in India and China are starving for your job.” Thomas Friedman, 2005

 Parents: Most of you have paid for the phone and pay the bills. That means you can search it, take it, and do anything you want to with it!  Open social media accounts yourself and require that your child “friend” or allow you to follow them.  Insist that your child use the limits on their sites so that they do not share with everyone.  Purchase programs to install on their phones to block whatever you want blocked.  Encourage your child to be a good digital citizen.  Set a time every week when you sit down with your child and go through all of their accounts.

“When you consider individuals of equal talent, the grittier ones do better.” “Grit is not just having resilience in the face of failure, but also having deep commitments.” The Significance of Grit: A Conversation with Angela Lee Duckworth
