What is peer mediation?  Peer mediation is a service that students can use to resolve conflicts with other students.  It gives the students an opportunity to be more independent and solve conflicts in a responsible manner.

Who is eligible to be a peer mediator?  4 th and 5 th grade students who complete an application with a letter of reference and possess necessary qualities to perform the duties of a peer mediator

When and where is peer mediation?  Peer mediators meet during lunch/recess once per week  Days and location TBA depending on the number of applicants

How does peer mediation work? What are the steps involved in mediation?  Getting each side of the story  Eliciting feelings from both sides  Brainstorming solutions  Compromising to make an agreement  Signing an agreement
