iSite Main Window Open iSite v7.0 from your laptop (the Main window will appear) Auto-Discovery occurs on if connected to a iNFINITI Modem via a LAN, port and the computer is configured properly for the remote IP address and subnet mask. Otherwise, right click on the WORLD icon and select “New” from the Menu and enter the IP address for the remote in the pop-down window that will open (see next slide)

Connecting with iSite Logging into iSite: – Open iSite and left click on the world in the left hand column or left click on the small remote with the correct IP address – A login box will open – Enter the modem IP address (if necessary) and password, (case sensitive, and click the Admin box – Click the OK button – If the correct IP and password has been entered and the computer is configured properly, iSite will AUTO Detect the modem

iSite GUI A drop down list (tree) will appear with the modem status information. A sub-tree is also available (Back Panel LED’s) providing a visual display of the modem LED’s and status of each LED – Green LED’s indicate that the respective field is active – All Greens LED’s indicate that the modem is up fully operational (TX & RX) in the network These LED’s will be discussed in greater detail at the end of this course of instruction – Troubleshooting the iNFINITI modem

What Does iSite Look Like? IP Configuration Screen – IP Configuration tab displays IP/VLAN configuration details – Parameters are “Fixed” (read only), and not configurable at the TDMA remotes using iSite

What Does iSite Look Like? QoS Screen – QoS tab displays configured service levels and applicable rules – Additional tabs, Traffic, Filter, and Data Rate, provide QoS supporting details (per existing configuration) are also available

What Does iSite Look Like? GEO Location Screen – Geo Location tab displays the remote site latitude and longitude in DMS or decimal format. – Mobile remotes (TDMA) allow Geo location entry – The GEO location is provided to the NetModem via the console cable.

Download Options Files from iSite 1.From the Component Tree menu, right click on REMOTE; Select “Download” option from Disk 2.Alternatively, Select “Option File” from the iSite Menu bar; Select “Download from Disk” 3.A previously created Options Folder from the desktop will open or you can select a drive where the options disk is located 4.Select the correct Options file from the list (Note, loading the wrong options file locally or remotely can lock up the unit to the point where it is inaccessible) 5.A prompt will ask “Are You Sure … etc) 6.Select “Yes” 7.Another window will open and state that the Options file was successfully downloaded 8.This will be discussed in greater detail later in this course

Saving (Uploading) Options File from iSite 1.From the Component Tree menu, right click on REMOTE; Select “Upload” option from Disk 2.Alternatively, Select “Option File” from the iSite Menu bar; Select “Upload to Disk” 3.A previously created Options Folder from the desktop will open or you can select a drive or location where the options file is located and save to disk 4.It is recommended that prior to servicing ANY remote the service tech save the current configuration for possible use later if difficulties occur and the unit needs to return to the previous configuration)

Saving Options File from iSite 1.When the “Save As screen appears you will need to rename the file accordingly 2.Naming conventions are shown to the right. 3.Remotes are labeled R.opt 4.They can be labeled R backup.opt etc for troubleshooting or testing purposes.

Sample Options File Format Options files are self generated as shown on the right These lines can be edited if necessary for testing and/or training purposes (but is not recommended unless a backup has been saved) It is NOT recommended that the service tech modify these files in any manner without the expressed permission of the NOC or data personnel

The following will discussed in greater detail but you should remember the following from this point on: – Saving the current working options file is critical. If the modem losses the file or it becomes corrupted, the last known options file can be loaded to the modem. – To save a new option file to the laptop: Click on the Upload Option to Disk icon and save the options file from the laptop – To load a options file from laptop: Click the Download Options File to Disk icon. Locate and select the file and click OK. Another screen will open and ask to reboot the modem, click OK. – The modem will reboot and the new/old options file will be loaded.
