+ WHAT DOES THE WORD BUDDHISM MEAN? Buddhism mean “Awakened or Enlightened One” It is title given to the Siddhartha Gautama – the founder of Buddhism who lived in Northern India in 6 th & 5 th centuries BCE. The Buddha is the being who represents perfect wisdom and perfect compassion.

+ Main Beliefs  The 3 jewels of Buddhism:  Buddha, the teacher.  Dharma, the teachings.  Sangha, the community.
