-F-First found by John Cade, the results was first published in He used cavies and the urine from mental patients to made an experiment and found Lithium could calm down excited animals. -A-Adelaide and Dyke discovered chlorpromazine in 1950, it was used after operations or for calming down the patients (the first real depressant). -B-Barbitone in later years -P-Paxel is used more and more widely. How to find it?

So many star died of Sedative

Chlordiazepoxide was the first benzodiazepine to be synthesized and the discovery of chlordiazepoxide was by pure chance. Chlordiazepoxide and other benzodiazepines were initially accepted with widespread public approval but were followed with widespread public disapproval and recommendations for more restrictive medical guidelines for its use. Chlordiazepoxide has a medium to long half-life but its active metabolite has a very long half-life. The drug has amnestic, anxiolytic, hypnotic and skeletal muscle relaxant properties.

The Common Drugs of Depressants. One of the most widely abused drugs in the world today is alcohol. It can distribute throughout a person’s body by the bloodstream. Alcohol affects cellular communication by influencing the release of or interacting with receptors for several important neurotransmitters. It also appears to block the movement of sodium and calcium ions across the cell membrane, influences the process in the transmission of impulses. The heavy alcohol consumption can cause the destruction of nerve cells and brain damage.
