Talk to your Child about Kindergarten ♥ Share feelings about kindergarten, address child’s fears (if any) ♥ Be excited about your child’s entry into kindergarten ♥ Point out schools in neighborhood, especially the one he/she will attend if you know it ♥ Have a countdown activity marking the beginning of kindergarten – for example, mark days on a calendar to cross off ♥ Talk about what to expect – for example, bigger classes, fewer adults, more independent work, etc. ♥ Two weeks before school starts, begin practicing the right time for bedtime, waking up in the morning, dressing, and eating breakfast, so that your child will be ready when it really is the first day of school Portland Research and Training Center

Morning Routine You may bring your child in the first day to walk him/her through the morning routine. After the first day, we ask that you drop your child off at the door.

Please let your teacher know if you are interested!
