“The Enterprise Adviser programme works with teachers to develop and implement a whole school careers education plan through matching them with volunteers from the world of work.” ENTERPRISE ADVISERS

PROGRAMME Recruit Recruit 150 Enterprise advisers from CIPD and Team London with added support from the LEP and the GLA’s Business Engagement team’s networks Engage 75 London schools (25% primary : 75% secondary) to accept an EA Broker Match an average of two EAs per London school. When matching, the following will be taken into account: location of EA, sector of EA, current careers offer in the school, employment status of EA and experience working with school Audit The EAs will work with senior leadership at the school to conduct a full audit of existing careers provision at the school and outline successes/challenges. Plan With support from the EAs, the school will publish a detailed careers plan that outlines their career offer for all years at the school and which organisations they will enlist to deliver on their commitments. Embed The EAs will support the school in outreaching to relevant organisations to deliver the careers plan. Other elements of the LEP, GLA’s and London Council’s 7-point Careers Offer will be very useful to schools at this point. The EAs will help hold the school to account, ensuring they deliver on their careers commitments. Review Teachers and EAs will be surveyed to analyse the success of the programme, lessons learnt and capture case studies. Review mechanisms will be agreed in partnership with the CEC and will draw on the expertise of the GLA Intelligence Unit. Share Schools and EAs from across the area will come together on a quarterly basis to share best practice. ECs will publish a quarterly paper detailing successes and challenges of the programme. Team London and the LEP, will work with the CEC to ensure learnings from London are disseminated nationally.
