High proportion of elderly occupants High proportion of elderly and vulnerable households Park Homes in general across the UK Many residential park home sites are restricted to those over 50 years, with the higher percentage being over 60. Occupants who receive means-tested and/or disability- related benefits, poor health.

Common issues with Park Homes Poor thermal efficiency High number of homes constructed pre Park homes are not considered a permanent residence. Typical construction type Lightweight timber frame construction – walls as little as mm thick with no insulation. Reliance on expensive fuels Bulk LPG, Bottle Gas and oil are typical heating options, majority of park homes are off grid. Site Owners Can be challenging, Utilities are often purchased via site owners & permissions needed for alterations to properties.

What can we do to make a difference? Continue to highlight and campaign Park Homes as hard to heat homes. Continued LA engagement, right across the UK. Uncover various funding streams, CIC’s, charities etc. highlight these to the LA’s. With our FCA approval we can offer interest free loans to help with the shortfall, following the Green Deal Golden Rule. Focus not only on Fuel Poor but have a clear strategy to prevent Fuel Poverty.
