The AfCS Antibody Database Goal: –provide the signaling community with a resource on the AfCS Antibody Lab’s experience with commercial antibodies. Content: –information on over 300 antibody preparations, most of which are phosphorylation site specific (up from 200 last year) –additional testing of antibodies on RAW cells Format: –Last year unveiled in PDF format –This year it is web-based with search engine added
Location of Database on the Web 1.Go to AfCS website at: Click on 3.Links to the database and the brief communication Report explains how to navigate database and how we scored the performance of the antibodies
Navigating the Antibody Database The database is organized into three levels: Level 1: Index of antibody targets Level 2: List of antibodies to chosen target Level 3: Table of results for chosen antibody Search engine available to refine search at any level
Level 1: Index of Antibody Targets Only small portion of index shown Example: click on p38 MAP kinase
Level 2: List of Antibodies to Chosen Target Lower the number score, the better the antibody performed for us Click on name of antibody preparation
Ab name & source Each row represents a single experiment Columns give information on conditions and results of each experiment (different conditions can result in different score). Color-coding that corresponds to the scoring of results are defined in Brief Communication and our poster. Lowest number scores (best results) are always listed at top. Level 3: Summary Table of Results
Search Engine Categories available to refine search: - Vendor - Score - Phosphospecific - Cell type - Cell treatment
