Further Mathematics Support Programme

What can the FMSP and the NCETM offer to you? Let Maths take you Further…

Blended CPD offer to meet the continuum of need  FMSP CPD will be a blend of courses, teacher networks, funded projects, and resources focusing on subject knowledge, pedagogy and embedding in practice  This blend will enable the programme to respond appropriately and flexibly to the needs of individual teachers and schools and colleges  In the longer term it will include teacher-led PD where teachers can access resources that are freely available to them through the FMSP

Support for teachers  Advice will be available to teachers from all FMSP staff, by or over the telephone  Students’ study/revision days will be open to teachers free of charge. In the past many teachers have benefited from attending these days to get an overview of a module.

Courses Local courses Live online professional development courses (LOPD) Teaching Further Mathematics (TFM); a 14-month part-time course Please refer to hand out for more details

FMSP and the NCETM The NCETM Funded Projects Scheme is divided into three areas: Teacher Enquiry Funded Projects (TEFP), Mathematics Knowledge Networks (MKN) and the Regional Projects Programme (RPP). The TEFPs are suitable for teachers who are keen to undertake action research focused on a particular area of their teaching. The MKNs are for teachers who may want to work with other colleagues within a more structured approach. The RPP is for those who would like to make a start in the area of teacher enquiry but would welcome help from a regional coordinator to support them through the process.

FMSP and the NCETM Where do we go from here? Are there existing networks in this region? If so, can others join them? could they seed other networks? do they want to advertise on the NCETM Portal? If not, do you want to set up network(s) in this region? when? where?
