6 Digital Distribution The delivery of digital content to mobile devices is expected to grow exponentially surpassing “traditional” online delivery by The International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI) reports that in 2007, there were 363 million mobile phones in Latin America with an increase of 104% in mobile transactions compared with a 26% increase in the rest of the world.

8 The Importance of IPRs With the growth of digital distribution and the importance of branding and hence, the licensing of the image of the artist and further driven by falling CD sales, the role of intellectual property rights is becoming more important.

10 The Role of the CMO The CMO plays an important role in the development of the cultural industries by facilitating the access to works by users and securing financial returns to rights-owners by providing the incentive to continue creating and sharing these creations with the public.
