Enterprise Communications Project By Jake Beirne

Introduction Of Chosen Business The 2 businesses I chose for my project are Trócaire and Paddy Power. I chose Trócaire as my non for profit company as it is a charity which is particularly close to my heart. I chose Paddy Power as this is a business which I frequently and was keen to find more information about the business.

Trócaire Trócaire mission statement- We work with amazing people to bring about positive and lasting change in some of the worlds poorest countries. The external communications they use are leaflets, their website, social media pages, television and radio advertisements and personal selling.

Trócaire Cont. Trócaire has reached the optimized stage of the practice maturity scale. Trócaire target audience is anyone in the general public who is willing to donate money to they organisation.

Trócaire areas to be improved Mechanism: Trócaire need to make more people aware of their social media pages. Especially their YouTube Channel which only has 150 subscribers. Resources: Trócaire could gain more donors by increasing the amount of events they hold

Paddy Power Mission Statement-’risk based entertainment’ more accessible and fun. The external communications they use are leaflets, their website, social media pages, television and radio advertisements and personal selling.

Paddy Power Cont. Paddy Power has reached the optimized stage of the practice maturity scale. The target audience of Paddy Power is anyone over the age of eighteen who place bets.

Paddy Power Areas To Be Improved Vision- The mission statement of Paddy Power was difficult to find on the website. I feel it should be clearly displayed on the home page. Messages- increase awareness of their website through personal selling and public relations.

Compare and Contrasts Both Trócaire and Paddy Power use very similar external communications. Both use social media, however Trócaire use it more efficiently. Both need to put more work into their twitter and YouTube accounts which are relatively inactive Paddy Power has a very successful app for betting through mobile phones. However, Trócaire do not. In my opinion if they were to develop an app this would increase both awareness and potential donations for the company.
