Christmas in Poland Marta Kościelniak kl. 4a

Christmas is the most popular family holiday in Poland. It is a very old festival. It starts on December 24 th and lasts till December 26 th.

In Poland people buy and decorate Christmas tree a few days before Christmas.

People send Christmas cards to family and friends and prepare special Christmas food. In Poland people buy presents for all they love!

On Christmas Eve, December 24 th, we have Christmas supper. The supper starts when the first star appears in the sky. People stand around the Christmas table and share a wafer with the whole family wishing each other Merry Christmas

Polish traditional meal is carp, poppy seed cake and other special Christmas food.

Children open presents on Christmas Eve, just after supper. At midnight people go to church to celebrate the birth of Jesus.

December 25 th and 26 th are Christmas Days. People have a big family dinner, visit family and friends and relax.
