 The mission of this DPM team is to develop multiple Senior Design project readiness packages to improve on the existing TigerBot platform. The projects will further enhance the TigerBot’s human resemblance, both in physical capabilities and appearance. Each individual project scope should be designed such that MSD teams are able to complete the projects within the two quarters allotted for MSD1 & 2.

Advanced robot for students, hobbyists, and educators Specifications 3.5 x 7 x 12.5 inches 16 Hitec digital servos (DOF) 5.2 Pounds Easily programmable

Developed by RIT Purpose Perform Missions Reconnaissance Search and Rescue Wildfire Detection Field Repair Modularity Communication Send/Receive Data Adjust course of work accordingly

Used in industry to perform dangerous tasks Typically hard wired to power supply Capable of reproducing same results Information gathered was not considered extremely useful for our purposes

Capabilities Object handling and interaction Walking & running Body coordination and Balancing Obstacle Avoidance Human interaction Specifications Height: 1.3 Meters Weight: 54 kg DOF: 34

Multiple models from different companies Varying levels of complexity Varying levels of programmability Varying Control Systems Varying System Capability Costs from $50-10,000

ME Professor at RIT Secondary TigerBot customer Research Vibrations of Mechanical Systems MEMScouts Artificial Muscles Co-Chair of LACOMS Active member of CIMS

The customer needs multiple MSD projects stemming from the TigerBot platform because it will enhance TigerBot’s human resemblance with respect to capability and physical appearance Joint Upgrades – The customer needs additional degrees of freedom to each limb because it will improve the mobility of TigerBot Hands – The customer needs TigerBot to have hands because it will allow TigerBot to handle objects Head – The customer needs TigerBot to have a head because it will support sensory modules and mimic the human appearance The customer needs a project to design a foot so that TigerBot’s balance improves The customer needs TigerBot to have wrist joints so that it can simulate motions that would be performed by a human shoulder joint The customer needs a project to design a hand that will allow TigerBot to grab and move objects. The customer needs a project to further develop the hand sensors so that TigerBot can handle delicate objects. The customer needs a project to design a head so that TigerBot to visually detect and recognize objects. The customer needs a project to design a head so that TigerBot can perceive and emit sound. The customer needs TigerBot to have a humanlike exterior so that it can be a complete humanoid
